The Solutions Engineer serves as the technical and domain expert within GoFreight's sales organization. Partnering closely with Account Executives, this role helps customers solve complex operational challenges by leading technical discovery, designing tailored solutions, demonstrating GoFreight's capabilities, and providing technical guidance throughout the sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Discovery & Solution Design
• Partner with AEs on discovery to surface the operational pain beneath the stated pain — the double entry, the manual re-keying, the workflow that breaks at scale.
• Map the prospect's current-state workflow (system of record, integrations, data flows, hand-offs) and design the GoFreight future-state.
• Produce written solution designs and use cases for strategic deals.
• Document and enforce technical qualification
• Demo & Presentation Ownership
• Own and deliver all tailored, strategic demos — not a click-through of features, but a demonstration of the prospect's own workflow running inside GoFreight.
• Build and maintain reusable demo environments by segment (forwarder, broker, NVOCC) and by displaced competitor.
• Handle technical objections live and without escalation.
• Coach AEs to competently run standard and mid-market demos, so SE time is reserved for strategic deals.
• Integrations, POCs & Technical Validation
• Own the technical evaluation stage: scoping integrations (WMS, EDI, API, accounting, carrier and data providers), defining what's in scope, what's custom, and what's not possible.
• Run proof-of-concept and data-migration conversations, setting realistic expectations on effort and timeline.
• Serve as the credible technical counterpart to a prospect's IT and technical stakeholders.
• Be the single point of truth on "can GoFreight do X?"
• Product Liaison & Competitive Intelligence
• Own the feedback loop into Product: capture and prioritize the feature gaps that are actually costing deals, with dollar amounts attached.
• Escalate blocking technical gaps with a business case, not a complaint.
• Build and maintain competitive technical battlecards — where we win technically, where we lose, and how to reframe.
• Maintain the technical objection-handling library for the team.
• Enablement & Team Uplift
• Train AEs and BDRs on product depth, technical discovery questions, and competitive positioning.
• Own the technical portion of new-hire ramp.
• Maintain internal documentation: solution patterns, integration FAQs, demo scripts.

Required Qualifications:

• Deep domain fluency: experience selling or supporting technical evaluations for freight forwarders, customs brokers, or NVOCCs. Knows the workflows, the pain, the objections, and the buying process.
• Product knowledge: ability to build deep, working knowledge of the GoFreight platform.
• Demo and objection-handling experience: able to run demos, map customer workflows, and translate capability into business value.
• Customer empathy and trust: able to establish credibility with customers and internal stakeholders alike.
• Written solution thinking: able to produce clear, rigorous solution designs and use cases for strategic deals.
• Integration fluency: working knowledge of API concepts, EDI, WMS/TMS data flows, accounting integrations, and data ingestion/migration.
• Technical stakeholder credibility: able to hold a substantive conversation with a prospect's IT lead, developer, or systems integrator without deferring.
• Technical scoping discipline: able to distinguish standard vs. custom vs. not-possible, and commit to it in writing.
• Willingness to travel for onsite workshops and collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.

Compensation and OTE Structure

The annual On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position range from USD 100,000 to 150,000, consisting of 75% base salary (USD 75,000 – 115,000) and 25% commission (USD 25,000 – 35,000).
