Electrical Engineer

Job Title: German-Speaking Electrical Engineer – Grid Connection & Project Delivery Location: Remote (Germany-Based) Contract Type: 12-Month Contract Start Date: ASAP Our client is a leading international developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy and energy storage assets, playing a key role in supporting the energy transition across Europe and globally. With a substantial pipeline of utility-scale projects and significant investment backing, they are continuing to expand their presence in the German market. Our client is looking to engage an experienced German-speaking Electrical Engineer on an initial 12-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile energy infrastructure projects while joining a business with a strong long-term development pipeline extending well beyond the initial contract period. The Role As the Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical expertise throughout the project delivery phase, with a particular focus on grid connection activities, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with German grid requirements and regulations. Working closely with project managers, contractors, grid operators, and local authorities, you will help drive successful project execution from a technical and stakeholder management perspective. Key Responsibilities Lead and support grid connection activities for utility-scale energy projects in Germany. Act as the primary technical interface with transmission and distribution network operators. Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, permitting bodies, utilities, and other key stakeholders. Provide expert guidance on German grid codes, regulations, and connection requirements. Review technical studies, electrical designs, and engineering documentation. Support project delivery teams in resolving technical and regulatory challenges. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved. Identify and mitigate technical and project risks related to electrical systems and grid integration. Requirements Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer or equivalent. Fluent German and English language skills. Strong experience working with the German electricity grid and grid connection processes. Detailed understanding of the German energy market, grid operators, and regulatory environment. Proven stakeholder management experience, including engagement with local authorities and utilities. Experience supporting infrastructure, renewable energy, battery storage, or power projects through delivery phases. Ability to work independently within a remote environment.
