Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to post-anesthesia patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Oversees the recovery process, ensures patient safety, and collaborates with healthcare team members to facilitate smooth transitions from anesthesia to recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Implement individualized care plans to promote optimal recovery and patient comfort.
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with anesthesia, surgical, and nursing teams.
• Educate patients and families on post-anesthesia care, instructions, and discharge procedures.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately in medical records.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Have recent experience in PACU, critical care, or acute care settings preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; advanced certifications such as ACLS preferred.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
