Job Title: IT Solutions Consultant – GRC / Public Sector Job Code: OH 812428 Client: State of Ohio – OIC Location: Columbus, OH – 100% Onsite Duration: Through 06/30/2027 Work Location: 30 W Spring Street, Columbus, OH 43215 Closing Date: 09/29/2026 at 4:00 PM Position Overview The IT Consultant 1 (ITC1) will advise enterprise clients on leveraging IT processes, systems, and technologies to solve complex business problems and achieve strategic objectives. The consultant will bridge business needs and technical solutions, providing objective evaluations of technology options, trends, cost-benefit tradeoffs, implementation risks, and modernization opportunities. Required Skills 2+ years of professional experience in an IT Department or IT Consulting firm Broad exposure to enterprise technology across infrastructure, software, security, and data Strong IT consulting and client advisory experience Experience engaging client stakeholders, gathering/defining requirements, and evaluating technical solutions Ability to perform technical option appraisals, risk analysis, and cost-benefit analysis Strong enterprise architecture and systems analysis experience Experience with business process modeling, gap analysis, and feasibility studies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to explain technical risks, tradeoffs, and financial costs to non-technical leadership Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Preferred / Highly Desired Skills Experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Hands-on experience supporting IT security audits Experience with risk management and compliance frameworks External IT consulting experience across multidisciplinary client environments Experience with large-scale public sector or regulated enterprise systems Experience supporting digital transformation / modernization initiatives Experience evaluating legacy and modern architectures, including cloud/on-premise integration Ability to assess technology trends, modernization opportunities, and implementation risks Key Responsibilities Define technical requirements and recommend tailored IT solutions. Advise clients on technology alternatives, options, risks, and tradeoffs. Analyze cost vs. benefit of proposed technology solutions. Evaluate emerging technology trends and modernization opportunities. Assess legacy and modern enterprise architectures and integration points. Translate complex business processes into technical solutions and gap analyses. Conduct feasibility studies and technical option evaluations. Collaborate with program and project management teams to develop solutions aligned with organizational goals. Define functional and non-functional requirements with client stakeholders. Map business objectives to industry standards and practices. Identify technical risks, operational impacts, and implementation considerations. Present data-driven recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Education Required: 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
