divh2Level 1 Electrician (Mastery Level)/h2pThe Level 1 Electrician (Mastery Level) is a highly skilled professional responsible for the safe, reliable installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical systems across refinery operations. This role serves as a technical expert, providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to other electricians and contractors while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards./ph3Key Objectives And Responsibilities/h3ulliIndependently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical systems, including:/liulliHigh and low voltage systems/liliMotors, compressors, and critical rotating equipment/liliSwitchgear, substations, and motor control centers (MCCs)/liliDistributed Control Systems (DCS) interfaces and field wiring/li/ulliLead and execute critical maintenance and turnaround activities/liliProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electricians and apprentices/liliPlan and coordinate electrical work with operations, engineering, and contractors/liliRead and interpret advanced electrical drawings, one-lines, loop diagrams, and specifications/liliEnsure strict adherence to all safety protocols, including:/liulliLockout/Tagout (LOTO)/liliArc flash and electrical safety boundaries/liliHazardous area classification requirements/li/ulliPerform equipment inspections and predictive/preventive maintenance/liliIdentify reliability issues and recommend improvements/liliSupport root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and incident investigations/liliVerify quality and compliance of contractor electrical work/li/ulh3Required Education/Experiences/h3ulliHigh school diploma or GED/liliCompletion of a formal electrical apprenticeship or equivalent industrial experience/liliJourneyman Electrician certification or equivalent experience/liliExtensive experience in industrial or refinery electrical maintenance/li/ulh3Preferred Education/Experiences/h3ulliTwo-year associates or technical degree in maintenance preferred/liliNCCER or equivalent advanced electrical certification/liliExperience with refinery-specific systems and processes/liliWorking knowledge of instrumentation and controls/liliExperience with SAP or CMMS systems/li/ulh3Competencies/h3ulliAdvanced knowledge of:/liulliElectrical theory and application/liliAC/DC systems, power distribution, and motor controls/liliHazardous (classified) locations (Class I, Div 1 2)/liliElectrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 70E)/li/ulliDemonstrated ability to:/liulliTroubleshoot complex electrical and control systems independently/liliLead jobs and coordinate multi-discipline work/liliMake sound decisions in high-risk environments/li/ulliStrong leadership and mentoring skills/liliExcellent communication and coordination abilities/liliDemonstration of Calumet Values Safety, Environment Social Responsibility, Teamwork, Ownership, Passion for Customers, and Excellence/li/ulh3Role Expectations (Mastery Level)/h3ulliulliWorks independently with minimal supervision/liliServes as a subject matter expert in electrical systems/liliLeads by example in safety, compliance, and craftsmanship/liliCoaches and develops less experienced personnel/liliDrives reliability and continuous improvement initiatives/li/ul/li/ul/div
