Safety Technician – Heavy Civil & Mission Critical Projects Location: Project-Based | Extensive Travel Required Company: Gregory Construction Gregory Construction is seeking a Safety Technician to support heavy civil and mission-critical projects across multiple regions. This is a field-based, travel-intensive role requiring consistent movement between active job sites. Candidates should expect to spend the majority of their time in the field, supporting projects wherever they are located. This position is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in dynamic environments, is comfortable working across multiple locations, and is confident leading safety efforts directly in the field. Key Responsibilities Implement and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) across assigned projects Conduct jobsite safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits Lead toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and task hazard analysis (THA) sessions Monitor high-risk activities including trenching, excavation, and fall protection Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning Work closely with Superintendents and Project Managers to maintain safe operations Mentor junior safety personnel and support field training efforts Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting Travel frequently between job sites and support projects across multiple regions Qualifications Experience 3–5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil or mission-critical environments Requirements OSHA 30 Certification required CPR/First Aid preferred Strong knowledge of excavation, trenching, fall protection, and construction safety practices Ability to communicate clearly, enforce standards, and lead safety discussions Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work on-site for extended durations Certifications (Required) Must hold at least one of the following: CHST, GSP, or CSP Education High school diploma or equivalent required Additional certifications or degree in safety, construction, or related field preferred What to Expect Project-based assignments in multiple states and regions Frequent travel with extended stays near active job sites Daily, hands-on involvement with field crews and leadership Exposure to large-scale heavy civil and mission-critical projects Competitive pay Paid Time Off (PTO) Health and dental insurance 401(k) with company match Opportunities for additional certifications and career advancement Why Gregory Construction Gregory Construction is committed to maintaining a strong, field-driven safety culture.
