Position Overview

SVS Group is seeking an experienced  Territory Sales Manager on behalf of a confidential client. This position is responsible for managing and growing an established sales territory throughout the Greater Bay Area.

Candidates must currently reside in the San Jose/South Bay area, as this is a home office-based position requiring daily travel throughout the assigned territory.

This is an outside sales position for professionals with proven experience developing business relationships and growing sales within the plumbing, irrigation, pool & spa, or related wholesale construction markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an assigned sales territory throughout the Greater Bay Area.
• Sell products and services to plumbing wholesalers, irrigation wholesalers, pool & spa wholesalers, plumbing contractors, repair and remodel contractors, architects, engineers, and other assigned customers.
• Develop new business while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
• Conduct regular in-person sales calls throughout the territory.
• Present merchandising, marketing, and promotional programs to customers.
• Provide product knowledge, customer support, and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Attend industry trade shows and conduct customer training programs as needed.
• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to maximize territory growth.
• Build strong relationships with customers at all levels, including counter personnel, showroom staff, purchasing teams, marketing personnel, and decision-makers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support company objectives and customer success.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of outside sales or territory management experience.
• Experience selling within one or more of the following industries:
• Plumbing
• Irrigation
• Pool & Spa
• Building Materials
• Construction Supply
• Proven ability to develop new business and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently from a home office.
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience calling on wholesalers, contractors, architects, or engineers.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Customer-focused with a professional approach.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

• Starting base salary of $75,000+
• Annual performance bonuses (Q1 & Q4)

Important Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

• Currently live in or near the San Jose/South Bay area.
• Have recent outside sales or territory management experience.
• Be comfortable traveling throughout the Greater Bay Area on a daily basis.
• Have experience working with customers in the plumbing, irrigation, pool & spa, construction, or related wholesale distribution industries.
