We hand-pick caregivers who don’t just provide care, but who truly serve and love the people in their charge.As a Caregiver with Senior Helpers of Sun City West-Surprise, you will be the trusted, consistent presence in a client’s daily life — providing companionship, personal care, and recovery support so they can remain safely and happily at home.This is not a live-in position. We offer daytime, evening, and overnight shifts. Caregivers on overnight shifts are expected to remain awake and alert throughout.$17–$18/Hour, DOE Competitive Pay, Based on Experience - Holiday Premium Pay 1.5x on 7 Holidays + Your Birthday - Overtime Eligible 1.5x for 40+ hours/weekPaid Sick Time (PST): Accrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked for all employees, eligible to use after 90 days — per Arizona law.Mileage Reimbursement: Reimbursed at the standard IRS rate for approved business driving between client locations.Holiday Premium Pay: Earn 1.5x your rate on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve — and your own birthday.Flexible Scheduling: Days, evenings, and overnights available. Grow your skills.One-on-One Client Matching: You’re hand-matched to clients whose needs align with your strengths — building real relationships, not rushing between rooms.Responsive Office Support: Our Care Coordinator is a phone call away. You are never alone on an assignment.Responsibilities vary by client and care plan but may include:Companionship, conversation & emotional supportLight housekeeping & household managementMeal planning & preparationLaundry and linen careErrands and transportation (client’s or your own vehicle)Medication remindersWalking & mobility assistance - Bathing, dressing, grooming & toileting assistanceAssist client to/from bedMonitor clients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory care needsPost-surgical & recovery care supportOvernight shifts (awake & alert — no live-in assignments)Document care activities in the client’s Care Plan Book dailyReport significant client changes to the office promptlyRequired:Genuine compassion for seniors and a desire to make a positive differenceAbility to treat every client with dignity, respect, and patienceReliable, punctual, and professional — your client counts on youAbility to read, write, and communicate in English at a conversational adult levelValid driver’s license with a clean driving record and current auto insuranceReliable personal vehicle available for use during assignmentsMust pass a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employmentPre-employment TB screening required as a condition of hireFlexible and adaptable — willing to work a variety of shifts and days, including evenings and overnightsMust be 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United StatesPreferred — but not required (we will train the right person):Prior caregiving experience — professional or personal (including caring for a family member)Experience with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, or memory careCPR/First Aid certification (required within 90 days of hire if not already held)Comfort with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and toiletingThis is an active, hands-on role. You should be able to:Safely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (e.g., a wheelchair or walker into/out of a vehicle)Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, or push/pull throughout a shiftAssist clients with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily livingClimb stairs multiple times during a shift as neededRemain awake, seated, and alert during overnight shiftsSee clearly (with or without correction) to monitor client safetyReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Our office is based in Sun City West, AZ. We serve clients throughout Sun City West, Surprise, and the broader Northwest Phoenix Valley.
