STATUS: Full time LOCATION: Unity Hospital - 1555 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626 DEPARTMENT: Nuclear Medicine SCHEDULE: M-F; schedule will fall within 6:30 am - 4:30 pm On call: Evening/Night, Weekends, Holidays Summary As a Nuclear Medical Technologist, you play an important part in high‑quality nuclear medicine procedures needed to deliver quality care to our patients. Performs all diagnostic exams, quality assurance procedures, receipt, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals, and records all data on the appropriate computerized information system. Responsibilities Establish a safe and secure environment for patients. Maintain the radiopharmacy and radiopharmacy information system. Ensure that nuclear imaging equipment is in optimal working condition. Be responsible for on‑call coverage of the modality. Consult with the Nuclear Imaging Radiologist regarding procedures. Follow departmental radiation safety procedures. Follow departmental image acquisition/analysis, RIS/PACS procedures. Be responsible for backup Nuclear Cardiology Technologists as determined by the Chief Technologist, Non‑Invasive Cardiology and Nuclear Imaging. Attend hospital and departmental meetings and in‑service training. Demonstrate excellent customer service behaviors; employees will be held accountable. Assist the Med Physicist with QA/QC as required by NYSDOH and the American College of Radiology. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine or completion of a certification program. ARRT and/or NMTCB Certification within 3 months of hire. NY S License in Radiologic Technology in Nuclear Medicine is required, OR must hold a NY S permit and obtain licensure within 6 months of hire. Continuing education classes. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience preferred. Physical Requirements Medium‑level work that may require exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
