The Patient Services Representative II Floater acts as the primary point of contact, managing advanced patient scheduling, insurance verification, and co-payment collection. The PSR II Floater will rotate on occasion or as necessary, to other DRCHC sites (Bossier, Gilliam, Haynesville, Minden, and Shreveport).
Work Experience Requirements:
- Greet patients, verify demographic information, and secure insurance authorization for services.
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring accurate patient calendars and maximizing clinic efficiency.
- Collect deductibles, co-payments, and deposits and advise patients on billing or insurance guidelines.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and distribute them to clinical staff.
- Address patient's inquiries, communicate waiting times and resolve issues to ensure high patient satisfaction.
- Assist all patients' referrals, transportation, insurance verification, etc.
- Ensures all confidential personal health information and financial information is entered into a computerized system with a rate of accuracy.
- Complies with all federal and local laws in ensuring patient privacy and DRCHC policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as described.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of patient/customer services experience.
- At least one year of health experience.
- Proficiency in EMR software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the NextGen system that consists of EDR application.
- Ability to multitask and manage high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance protocols.
Licensure/Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
