Join Our Dynamic Surgical Team as a Contract-First Assist!

Job Description:

- Unit Information:
- Unit: Medicine 3
- Location: Surgery
- Address: 12412 Judson Rd, Live Oak, TX 78233
- Floor: 1
- Building: Methodist Hospital Northeast

- Exciting Features of Our Unit:
- 5 Operating Rooms (ORs)
- Current staffing includes:
- 5 Full-Time Registered Nurses (RN), including Manager and Boardrunner
- 2 Part-Time RNs (one on FMLA)
- 3 PRN RNs (with 4 open requisitions for full-time nurses)
- 12 Surgical Technologists
- Day shift staffing:
- 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Manager, 3 Day Shift RNs, 1 Day/Evening Nurse (two days a week), 1 Attendant, 12 Techs
- Evening shift staffing:
- 1 Nurse on call, 1 Evening Nurse until 7 PM (two nights a week)
- Patient Ratios: 1 to 1
- Equipment: Basic OR equipment, including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy equipment, and positioning equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

- Hiring Profile:
- Required Skills:
- OR Circulator experience
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Ability to fulfill rotating call (minimum one night a week and one weekend per 5-week schedule)
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in orthopedics, general, gynecology, robotics, urology, vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, thoracic
- Typical Procedures:
- A diverse range of surgical cases
- Ideal Personality Fit:
- Flexible, caring, compassionate, and a willing attitude

- Dress Code:
- Scrubs provided at the facility

- On-call and Weekend Requirements:
- Rotate week nights and weekends (minimum one night a week and one weekend per 5-week schedule)

- Special Note:
- Candidates must be able to scrub open heart procedures.
