Seeking a person with human services / teaching experience.

Employment Specialist will teach employment and wellness-based skills to program participants in group and 1:1 individual settings. Individual will create work opportunities and relationships that promote recovery for individuals to overcome the barriers of mental illness. We are looking for a dedicated employee who will be responsible for providing employment services and supports to individuals living within Richland and Lexington County of South Carolina. Employment Specialist will create individualized strategies to teach and provide advice and supports regarding obtaining and maintaining employment and building health and wellness strategies. Employment Specialist searches for and creates employment opportunities through providing and teaching; job development with employers, the pre-employment process of creating resumes and onboarding paperwork, and submitting application materials with and on behalf of clients of the program. Employment Specialist will provide performance assessment and job skill teaching on the job site and will advocate for community resources.

Employment Specialists work with a clinical team - communicating and coordinating client's rehabilitative needs and supports. Employment specialist will represent and participate in Work In Progress public relations events, fundraising and training events and provide other WIP duties as specified by management.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field

· Experience job coaching, teaching, training

· Must have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

· Valid drivers license, ability to drive, and ownership of a reliable vehicle with motor vehicle insurance are a must for this position

· Must be self-motivated, able to work independently as well as be a team player

· Computer skills and own a cell phone

· Great Communication skills

· Great Networking skills and professionalism

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

· Knowledge of human behavior and performance

· Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for counseling and guidance,

· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service and personal services

· Knowledge of group behaviors and dynamics, societal trends and influences, ethnicity, cultures

-Knowledge of community resources

- ability to work collaboratively to support clients and engage clinical service providers, key stakeholders, and community partners

-ability to find and engage employers by promoting clients' abilities

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at desk working on a computer

· Prolonged standing

· Able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

· Able to navigate stairs without assistance

- Able to ambulate without assistance in varied occupational settings
