At the Ideal Tridon Group, connections aren't just what we make—they're the heart of everything we do.We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for Wesanco Smyrna TN plant.Position Summary:This position is responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment; locating the source of problems and observing mechanical devices; removing defective parts and dismantling equipment; determining changes in dimensional requirements; adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, performing routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance; fabricating repair parts; maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventory; and providing mechanical maintenance information and reports. This position will report to the shift supervisor.Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:30amHourly Rate: $29.12 + $1.50 Shift DifferentialDuties/Responsibilities:Completes preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.Troubleshoots malfunctions and listening for problems.Uses precision measuring and testing instruments.Uses hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.Use of rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedgesControls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Maintains equipment, parts, and supply inventory.Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Additional responsibilities include machine and auxiliary equipment preventative measures.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machineryAbility to follow instructions and learn the production process.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skillsAbility to perform repetitive tasks.Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.Education and Experience:Associate degree or completion of qualified apprenticeship programMinimum of 2 year of related work experienceSelf-motivated.Knowledge of inventory systemsCapable of utilizing basic math skillsCapable of using scan guns and ERP softwareDetail-orientedHilo certified or able to become certified in operating lift equipment.Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.Must have reliable transportation.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing entire shiftMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Must be able to bend and twist throughout entire shift. hearing and/or eye protectionPhysical Demands of Work Environment:The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation as you will frequently walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect, position, grasp or squeeze, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb, talk/hear to communicate, detect, converse with discern, convey, exchange information; see to detect, distinguish, identify, inspect, estimate. This position requires assistance from coworkers when handling heavier items since Load pallets and skids may be up to 35-feet long and weight up to 200 lbs. Must wear requiredWork Environment:Be able to work in a loud, noisy, and congested environment.
