If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Client Access Specialist at our new urgent care center!

What You Will Be Doing Working as a full time Client Access Specialist on the day shift (Monday-Friday) shifts will include occasional weekends and holidays working between 8 to 12 hours. You will be responsible for providing a welcoming and safe environment for our clients while completing real-time registration. This includes accurately capturing client demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record, verifying client insurance benefits and eligibility, assisting clients with completion of the CCBHC Sliding Fee Scale Income Verification/Ability to Pay form and communicating financial responsibility to clients. You will be responsible for answering telephones.

What We Require A Client Access Specialist (CAS) is required to have a High School diploma, or GED, and two years' experience in patient/client registration and insurance verification; ability to accurately enter insurance details into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system; superior customer service; ability to recognize and prioritize urgent or emergent care needs; ability to work variable shifts that are 8 to 12 hours which includes occasional weekend and holidays. Strong communication skills to inform clients about their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities, interpersonal and human relation skills; and Advanced computer skills including accessing various insurance websites, word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Physical Efforts Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
