Accounts Receivable Specialist (Part-Time)

About the Organization Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy-five employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need. Position Summary The A/R Specialist will collect and process revenue information from a variety of programs, reporting to the Controller. Responsibilities Review claims reports for accuracy and enter invoices into the accounting system. Review daily bank deposits. Import revenue files into the accounting system, attaching support documents as needed. Enter incoming deposits into the accounting system. Regularly update A/R and stock donation worksheets and FSA tracker for monthly financials. Reconcile YTD revenue totals. Assist Controller with audit tasks. Qualifications BA/BS in a relevant field or at least two years of directly relevant experience. Solid understanding of A/R principles and procedures. Ability to learn and use accounting software (Sage Intacct experience a plus). Ability to input large amounts of data with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment. Employment Details Part-time position offering twenty hours of work per week and a flexible schedule. Must be willing to work on-site. Salary is $39.00–$41.00 per hour. Benefits not included due to part-time nature. Food & Friends is Metro accessible.
