About the Role
The Company is in need of an Interim Vice President of Business Development with a focus on precision machining and large-envelope structures. The successful candidate will be a senior business development leader, often referred to as a commercial "rainmaker," with a hands-on, hunter-oriented approach. The role is pivotal in driving asset-loading growth, capturing long-cycle programs, and engaging in targeted hunting within the aerospace and defense sectors. The Interim VP will be responsible for building a qualified backlog, winning design-in positions on long-cycle programs, and ensuring high-value machine capacity is effectively utilized. This is a high-impact position that requires a proactive and strategic mindset, with a direct reporting line to the CEO and significant influence over pipeline strategy and deal structure. Applicants for this interim executive role must possess large-envelope technical fluency, a proven track record in business development within the specified industries, and an active, trusted network across aerospace and defense primes and tier-1s. The ideal candidate will have a command of long-cycle commercial structures, be adept at risk-based deal shaping, and be comfortable operating with urgency in a PE-backed environment. The role demands a US Person status due to the ITAR-controlled work. The Interim VP will be expected to operate with a high level of confidentiality and is required to sign an NDA. The engagement is on an interim, contract basis, with an immediate start and is scoped to the capture campaign.
