Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services is seeking motivated, dependable, and compassionate individuals to join our team. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to gain practical experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and develop a foundation for a career in behavioral health and child services.

Behavior Technicians provide direct support to children and families by implementing individualized ABA treatment programs under the guidance of the clinical team. Through structured, evidence-based interventions, technicians help clients strengthen communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills while supporting positive behavioral outcomes and greater independence.

Services are provided primarily in clients' homes and community-based environments according to individual treatment needs. Typical sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with flexibility based on client needs and employee availability.

Compensation: $20$26 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may be available for bilingual Spanish-speaking applicants.

As a Behavior Technician, you will work directly with children and become an important member of their treatment team. Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized ABA services in accordance with established treatment programs.
• Supporting the development of communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills.
• Implementing skill acquisition and behavior intervention strategies under clinical supervision.
• Applying evidence-based ABA techniques to encourage learning, independence, and positive behavioral outcomes.
• Supporting interventions designed to decrease behaviors that may interfere with safety, learning, or daily functioning.
• Collecting accurate client data during each session.
• Completing required session documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicating observations, progress, and concerns with supervising BCBAs and other members of the clinical team.
• Maintaining positive, respectful, and professional relationships with clients and their families.
• Following established clinical, ethical, safety, and confidentiality standards.
• Remaining flexible and responsive to the individual needs of each client.

Applicants with coursework, degrees, or experience in psychology, education, human services, child development, social services, or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Active automobile insurance listing the applicant as a covered driver
• Current negative TB test

The essential functions of this position may require employees to:

• Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and transition between floor-level and standing positions.
• Participate in developmentally appropriate client activities, including floor-based activities, movement activities, transitions, and safety monitoring.
• Safely work within a variety of environments, including homes, clinics, schools, community settings, and remote/telehealth settings when applicable.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move therapy materials and equipment, generally up to 50 pounds.
• Sit for extended periods while providing telehealth services or completing computer-based responsibilities.
• Use computers, keyboards, mobile devices, and other equipment requiring fine motor coordination.
• Maintain visual and auditory awareness to observe client behavior, monitor safety, and communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual settings.
• Read, understand, retain, and apply written and verbal information.
• Maintain attention, concentration, situational awareness, and sound judgment in dynamic environments.
• Collect, record, and submit accurate client data and session documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
• Demonstrate professionalism and emotional resilience when addressing sensitive client, family, employee, or workplace concerns.

Behavior Technicians may qualify for additional hourly increases based on continued availability and professional development:

• $1/hour increase after maintaining consistent availability for 90 consecutive days.
• Additional $1/hour increase upon successfully earning RBT certification.

We understand that last-minute client cancellations can affect technician schedules and earnings. To help protect our staff's time, paid cancellation time of up to 2 hours may be provided when a client cancels within 30 minutes of the scheduled session start time and/or after the technician has already departed for the session. Ad Astra also monitors recurring or excessive client cancellations and works to address scheduling concerns in an effort to support consistent and dependable technician hours.
