Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional to serve as a Bookkeeper for our property management firm. This role supports financial operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting, excellent administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced property management environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Accounting
• Maintain accurate general ledger records for multiple properties and ownership groups
• Process accounts payable and receivable; monitor tenant rent collections and vendor payments
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial reports
• Track property-level expenses including CAM, utilities, taxes, insurance, and maintenance
• Assist in preparing monthly owner statements and annual budgets
• Manage tenant ledgers, security deposits, and lease-related financial data
• Coordinate with external accountants for year-end reports, 1099s, audits, or tax filings
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and lease terms
• Use accounting/property management software (e.g., QuickBooks and AppFolio).
• Ability to interpret leases for tenant vs landlord expenses, lease renewals and lease enforcement.

Qualifications & Skills:
• 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting; property management or real estate experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel; experience with AppFolio software is a plus
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and proactively, with minimal supervision
• Strong time management skills — ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
