Job Description: SimpliFi Interview Position is for MS RN in the ED Hold area. About Facility: 492 beds, Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Primary Stroke Center. General Information: 67 beds in the ED – MS Holds beds will be allocated. Quick turnover! Will get a bed and then get a new assignment. Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? Yes. Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes with at least 2 years' experience and Cerner OR EPIC (EMR) experience with level II Trauma Experience. Patient Types: CHF exacerbation, TIA vs. CVA rule out, GI/GU, weakness/dizziness, chest pain. Patient Ratios: 1:5. Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, CPI or similar required, ACLS preferred. Skills required: Looking for a MS RN, not a ER RN. 18 months of MS experience. Will not expect ER experience that floats to MS. ED experience not required, preferred. This will be a MS assignment. Assessment, prioritization, communication and documentation skills. IV starts, blood administrations. Teaching facility experience preferred. Suctioning, O2 Therapy, ostomy care, Foley care, External catheter care, PEG/NGT care and use, wound care, chest tube, falls prevention management, restraints. Will be in the ER area but caring for Med Surg patients with admission orders. Important to realize the needs during transitions from ER to MS inpatient. Support on the Unit: CNA (Ratio: 1:12), Receptionist/HUC: Yes, Charge nurse: No, Phlebotomy? Yes, IV/VAT Team? Yes, Hospitalist: Yes, Telemetry monitoring: Technology/Equipment: EMR: Cerner, IV pumps: Plum 360, Medication dispensing: Omnicell, Monitors: Spacelabs. Floating: Any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds). Orientation: Travelers who are new to the facility or return travelers who have been gone for 1+ years will have 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit. Rehires: orientation will depend on last date here. Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month if on block schedule. On call? No. Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy.
