Location: Fountain Valley, CA (Onsite with 20% travel as needed)

Employment Type: Temp to Hire

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00 - 5:00

Pay: $35-$40/hr.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations Specialist to support employee relations initiatives across a large, multi-state workforce. In this role, you'll partner closely with leaders and employees to conduct workplace investigations, provide guidance on employee relations matters, manage disciplinary actions and separations, and help ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting a workforce of 1,200+ employees across multiple states, is comfortable navigating complex employee relations issues, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Bilingual Spanish skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace investigations involving employee misconduct, policy violations, attendance issues, performance concerns, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other employee relations matters.
• Gather and evaluate evidence, conduct interviews, document findings, and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Advise managers on employee relations concerns, performance management, corrective actions, disciplinary processes, and policy interpretation.
• Partner with leaders and employees to resolve workplace issues through coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
• Manage employee terminations and separations, including documentation review, risk assessment, approval coordination, and compliance considerations.
• Support employment-related claims, litigation matters, mediations, arbitrations, and legal inquiries by maintaining accurate and organized case documentation.
• Monitor employee relations trends, maintain case tracking and reporting, and identify potential compliance risks.
• Assist with policy updates, training materials, process improvements, and other employee relations initiatives.
• Maintain confidential, organized, and audit-ready employee relations records and documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive Human Resources and Employee Relations experience.
• Strong experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations cases.
• Experience handling disciplinary actions, corrective actions, terminations, and employee separations.
• Experience supporting large, multi-state employee populations, preferably 1,200+ employees.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Experience supporting employment claims, litigation matters, or legal proceedings is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Certifications

• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
