Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Tri‑Town School Union (Topsfield, Boxford & Middleton Elementary Schools PK‑6) – Starting Date: Aug 31 2026. Job Description Position: Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA). Reports to Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. Evaluated by Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis and Special Education. Preferred: MA DESE License as a Special Education Teacher or Psychologist. Current BCBA endorsement, with at least 2 years experience as BCBA. Minimum 5 years teaching experience with students with ASD. Strong collaboration/consultation skills. Excellent organization skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills – both oral and written. Extensive knowledge of Special education regulations, LRE, and FAPE. Key Job Responsibilities Training: Provide training to teaching staff, support staff, and parents in various formats on topics related to ASD, social thinking, behavior regulation, crisis prevention, and safety care/QBS training. Assessments: Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs), evaluate BSP/BIP impact, assess home education program needs, and perform classroom observations. Program Development and Oversight: Develop and oversee ABA and DTT programs and lessons, IEP development, progress monitoring for selected students/sections of IEP, and home education program development and oversight. Data Collection and Analysis: Develop appropriate data collection tools; train staff and parents; plan and conduct regular data analysis, summarization, and reporting. Consultation: Work with staff, administration, parents, and the educational team through individual consultation, seminars, and training to increase knowledge and improve instructional practices. Observe target students in multiple settings for data collection and consultation. Develop BSPs or BIPs with input from team and parents, including data collection forms and frequency. Assess need for discrete trial training; develop DTT programs and data collection methods; train staff and analyze data. Provide guidance and training on data collection, review, analysis, and reporting. Collaborate with behavior specialists and school psychologists; author progress reports. Participate in team meetings to assess progress and revise IEPs. Provide information to district administrators for program and budget planning. Facilitate transition planning from early intervention to preschool and across grades and buildings. Conduct home education program assessments and supervise home education providers. Develop or lead parent support groups as needed. Train non‑disabled peers to assist classmates with social and behavioral challenges. Conduct crisis prevention and intervention training for staff teams. Perform any additional duties related to education of students with social and behavioral regulation difficulties. Compensation and Work Hours Contract/salary to be individually negotiated; position is not part of a collective bargaining unit. School year contract plus ESY summer program. Workday is 8 hours with flexible start and end times. Physical Requirements Mobility and Movement – ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods up to 6‑8 hours, reach overhead and horizontally, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, bend and kneel frequently, use hands for keyboarding, writing, grading. Sensory Requirements – visual acuity for close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, hearing to understand spoken directions and identify sounds. Stamina – sustain high energy and mental alertness throughout the school day; sit for moderate periods for administrative tasks. Safety and Emergency Management – quick physical response to emergencies, push or pull furniture as needed.
