Line Cook / Prep Cook | Shawarma House — Ocean Beach, San Diego

Shawarma House is a busy, locally owned Mediterranean quick-service restaurant in Ocean Beach. We're hiring a Line Cook / Prep Cook to help us prep fresh every day and cook our food consistently during service. If you like keeping a clean, organized station and working with a small, hands-on team, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do

• Prep fresh ingredients daily: marinate and slice shawarma meats, cut vegetables, portion proteins, and make sauces, dips, and salads to recipe.

• Cook shawarma, kebabs, rice, wraps, plates, and sides to recipe, portion, temperature, and presentation standards.

• Prep and pack catering and meal-prep orders accurately and on time.

• Set up, stock, and break down your station before, during, and after service.

• Move with urgency during rushes while protecting order accuracy and food quality.

• Follow food-safety, labeling, dating, FIFO, and cross-contamination procedures every shift.

• Help with restocking, dishes, closing, and cleaning as needed.

What we're looking for

• Kitchen or prep experience is a plus, but we will train a dependable person who learns quickly.

• Comfortable with knife work and standing for a full shift.

• Pride in clean, consistent work and following recipes.

• A respectful, team-first attitude and reliable attendance.

• Availability for the posted shifts, including weekends.

• California Food Handler Card (or willing to get one within 30 days).
