Job Summary

The University of North Georgia Department of Biology invites applicants for a ten - month tenure - track position at the assistant professor level. We are seeking a biologist with expertise and teaching experience in genetics. The successful candidate will have a record of mentoring students in research or will demonstrate a well-developed plan for initiating a student research program.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in genetics and general biology plus candidate's area(s) of expertise
• Scholarly work involving undergraduates
• Advising students
• Service to the department, university, and community

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to engage in interdisciplinary research

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in biology or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
• Teaching experience in genetics
