Associate Attorney

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney who is ready to take ownership of cases, grow professionally, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Christensen Law ( a Salt Lake City law firm engaged in family and general civil practice, seeks to hire a full-time associate attorney. Pay range is $110,000 to $130,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Description/Expectations:

* Oversee cases and work with lead attorney as needed, depending on case and preference (mentoring and independence available, as preferred)
* Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
* Review/analyze discovery; propound discovery requests
* Work on hearing and trial preparation
* Represent clients in court and at mediation.
* Comply with all legal stands and regulations.
* Pitch in with other cases as needed
* Bill an average of 140 hours per month

Qualifications:

* Bar licensed with five plus years experience
* Familiarity with various pleading documents
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Ability to build a rapport with clients
* Excellent understanding of deadlines and timeframes
* Excellent research and writing and verbal communication skills
* Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
* Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
* Comfortable appearing in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations
* Strong organizational and case management abilities
* Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience using case management systems such as Clio Manage
* Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
* Strong billing judgment and time-management skills
* Client-focused mindset with professionalism and empathy
* Experience handling high-conflict or complex family law matters
* Spanish-speaking abilities are a plus
* 5+ years of family law experience
