Founding Engineer - Full Stack

The Company Datawizz helps companies reduce LLM costs by 85% while improving accuracy by over 20% by combining distillation, model routing, and pruning to route requests to smaller, more efficient models. We started in 2025 with the mission of making AI efficient, affordable and more accurate than ever before. Datawizz sits between the application and the LLM, automatically logging requests, evaluating them on different models, and training custom SLMs for repeated tasks. Datawizz then automatically routes every request to the best model - significantly reducing costs and improving accuracy. The Role As a founding full-stack engineer, you’ll own the application layer of our platform - from data collection and observability to the control plane and user-facing dashboards that make our ML infrastructure usable and delightful. You’ll work across the stack, turning complex systems into simple, powerful tools for developers - in a mixture of open source and closed source products. You will: Build user-facing dashboards and developer tooling for monitoring, evaluating, and managing models. Design and implement APIs and backend systems that interface with our ML routing and training stack. Lead architecture decisions around system design, scalability, and reliability. Lead & influence product decisions. Work directly with early customers to understand pain points and shape our roadmap. Own features end to end - from concept through design, implementation, launch, and iteration. This role is in-office, 5 days/week, based in San Francisco. You should be comfortable working across the stack and owning large, impactful projects from day one.
