Outreach Specialist

Outreach Specialist Department: CED Child Development Research Center Employment Type: Full Time Job Summary Under the direction of the SC Child Care Resource & Referral (SC CCR &R) Community Engagement Manager and in conjunction with the Communications Coordinator, the Outreach Specialist is a field‑based position in Richland County managing the promotion of services and related programs through statewide outreach activities. The role is a 12‑month, full‑time research grant position with benefits as part of SC CCR &R hosted at the USC College of Education Child Development Research Center. Duties include providing information and materials about the services offered by SC CCR &R to families, child‑care providers, organizations, employers, and the community through trainings, conferences, community events, and meetings. The position requires reliable transportation, the ability to travel across the state, work outside typical business hours (evenings, weekends), and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, education, business, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of work experience that includes training, outreach, marketing, event planning, administrative roles, logistics, or development. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of marketing and outreach strategies, experience in public speaking, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web‑based software applications. Ability to work evenings and weekends, maintain reliable transportation for outreach events and meetings statewide. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
