About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 18 months in a PCU setting with Level I or II trauma experience License: Must possess a valid nursing license prior to the start date Certifications: ACLS and BCLS required Must-Have: Strong cardiac and post-operative experience Telemetry skills IV start and management of cardiac drips - titration required Description: Call-ins: If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period if they are a 0.9 FTE. If a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract. For a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract. Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other weekend as per their contract. Consecutive weekends may be needed based on operational needs. Charge coverage: Unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed based on operational needs, with training and resources provided. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates are not accepted. Candidates must have proficient post-cardiac and post-vascular surgery experience. Candidates will be on multiple drips. Floating: Travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed. Refusal to float may result in termination of contract. Staffing ratios are 1:3-5 based on acuity. This unit serves patients post-cardiac surgery and post-vascular surgery and requires strong cardiac/post-op heart experience. Effective September 1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers. Declinations will not be accepted, but medical or religious exemptions will be reviewed with a doctor's note provided. Additional patient care requirements and restrictions apply based on previous employment. Floating is 100% required of all travelers, and candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
