What You'll Do

• Provide expert nursing care to transplant, med-surg, and telemetry patients with diagnoses like CHF, COPD, DKA, altered mental status, and transplant cases
• Manage patient monitoring and respond to clinical changes efficiently
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips (no titration), IV initiation, and wound care as directed by specialists
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalist services
• Support patient education and family communication
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Float between units to fulfill staffing needs

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• 1+ year of RN experience in acute care (2+ years for first-time travelers)
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam
• Skills in cardiac strip reading, IV insertion, wound care, and supportive bedside activities

• Experience with transplant, telemetry, or med-surg units
• Ability to work independently and within team settings
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills

About the Assignment Join a well-respected, stroke-certified facility in Bossier City, LA, with 325 licensed beds. This unit specializes in transplant patients, med-surg, and telemetry, offering a fast-paced yet supportive environment. You'll be part of a dedicated team providing high-quality patient care with opportunities for professional growth and development. Shifts occur on a rotation basis, including weekends and major holidays, with up to 7 days of time off allowed during the contract.
