About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in Step Down/PCU License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1 year experience in Step Down/PCU, inpatient only Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission and values. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and according to established guidelines of nursing practice. Meets unit specific physical demands. May require significant bending and stooping as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance. May need to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements. Exposes to high risk of blood and body fluids. Physical demands include push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., and pinch up to 15 lbs. May involve kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Utilizes the nursing process to provide care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in collaboration with other departments. Upholds patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with mission, values, and service standards.
