About This Role:

Join our team as a Staff Project Manager and take ownership of planning, organizing, and executing Engineered to Order (ETO) Modular Data Center Building projects with precision and efficiency. You will be the conduit for converting complex customer requirements to actionable, attainable scope while collaborating with in-house engineering and manufacturing experts.

You'll be the champion of managing customer expectations, coordinating manufacturing activities on innovative designs that need to adhere to strict specifications, code and safety standards. Spark L is our highest-content, highest-visibility modular configuration — the customer will be in our building, at our FAT bay, and on our weekly call. Your ability to communicate effectively and lead cross-functional teams will be crucial in driving projects to successful completion.

Your work directly impacts our ability to deploy modular data center buildings to compute from sustainable, renewable and/or stranded energy sources.

We are seeking a deeply experienced professional with a proven background in construction, engineering, and/or manufacturing, a strategic mindset, and an unwavering passion for innovative design/build project leadership. This is a full-time position.

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Cutting edge Spark™ Modular Data Center project: Collaborate with technical customer representatives, engineering and manufacturing teams to work through a state of the art modular data center design.

• Project Planning and Execution: Define clear project goals, develop strategic plans, financial budgets and manage timelines to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery from concept engineering through delivery of finished products to site.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with estimating, engineering, procurement, production, and accounting teams to align project deliverables and proactively mitigate risk.

• Customer and Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain customer relationships while managing change and holding stakeholders accountable. You are the scope control expert and stakeholders are aware of impacts for each one of their decisions and lack of timely decisions. You are also the go-to person when the customer needs a problem resolved.

• Profitability — Estimate vs. Actual: Own the estimate-versus-actual cost position on your projects. Track where production is landing against what was quoted, hold compliance to the cost baseline, and surface drift while there is still time to act on it.

• Out-of-Scope Cost Capture: Make sure every ECO/ECN is costed and recovered by Crusoe Industries. Scope that ships unbilled is margin given away, and capture is your responsibility, not Accounting’s.

• Budget Reporting and Forecasting: Take complex projects and break them down into digestible financial budgets and reports, collaborating with manufacturing production, estimating and engineering teams. You own the accuracy of your project cost model, maintain it to the PMO reporting standard and cadence, and sign the monthly cost-to-complete position that feeds the program economics review.

• Strategic Change & Risk Management: Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate potential scope creep, project risks, and design changes on innovative projects. You will own and manage change control strategies including risk logs, action logs, RFIs, submittals and change orders to ensure stakeholder alignment, budget stability, and schedule adherence in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

• Factory Acceptance Testing: Partner with Quality leaders to ensure the Inspection and Test Plan is executed on time and to the applicable standards and specifications.

• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring clear understanding of tasks and efficient execution. As a Sr. PM you are responsible for a lot of different outcomes and need to lead within and outside of the direct team.

• Resource Management: Identify and allocate necessary internal and external resources to ensure project success.

• Process Improvement — Detect and Collaborate: Make a positive impact in a new facility and influence processes for continuous improvement. Surface the friction you hit on the floor and work it through with the teams who own the process rather than routing around it.

• Permit and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) Management: Track licensing requirements by AHJ by collaborating with the dedicated licensing team member and ensure compliance for each jurisdiction. Navigate modular building AHJs to understand and conform to manufacturing permit requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

• Executive Dashboard Inputs: Complete the project-level portions of the sector executive dashboard on the published cadence — schedule position, milestone status, cost and margin position, and open risk. Your inputs are what gets reported upward, so their accuracy and timeliness are yours to own.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Project Management Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience managing projects within the electrical equipment, construction, engineering and/or manufacturing industry.

• Industry Experience — Construction, Electrical Project Management or Modular Building Manufacturing: Experience in construction or similar industry with exposure to multi-disciplinary products (electrical, HVAC, structural, enclosure/building envelope). Modular Building Manufacturing and/or Data Center Construction experience is preferred.

• Building Code & Electrical Code Knowledge: Competent in building and electrical code knowledge for collaboration with the in-house engineering department, manufacturing technicians, and authorities having jurisdiction for permit processing.

• Engineering & Constructability Competency: Ability to interpret electrical and structural engineering design drawings. This position requires a project manager who can review engineering drawings, weigh in on aspects of designs and advise on risks associated with design decisions when necessary. We are looking for someone to add value from an “I have to build this” perspective to provide productive feedback to our engineering group.

• Bachelor of Science: BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Management. Closely related fields will be considered.

• Complex Change Leadership & Process Ownership: Proven ability to not only lock scope and manage change orders but also to lead the adoption of dynamic change management practices across cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement).

• Schedule Development & Management: Proficient in scheduling using waterfall and agile methodologies. Proficient with programs such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Monday.com or Primavera P6.

• Cost Management: Ability to forecast and create a cost budget, and then manage said budget through completion of the project(s).

• Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and influence peers, ensuring collaborative project execution.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office for effective project documentation and communication. Experience with manufacturing ERP systems like SAP or Visual; experience with Acumatica is preferred.

• Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Bonus Points:

• Direct expertise in managing change on first-of-a-kind (FOAK) manufacturing programs or highly complex projects, maintaining positive client relationships throughout periods of significant project evolution.

• Data Center Construction Experience.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.

• Experience with advanced project management methodologies.

• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes.

• Familiarity with industrialized building programs (e.g. Texas TDLR/IHB) and third-party inspection agency workflows .

• Working understanding of P&L, cost control, and cost structure.

• Supply chain experience, including long-lead procurement, supplier management, and material risk.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $160,000 -$180,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
