Job Title: Product Engineer
Job Description

This product engineer will support the build out of configurable product models identified by engineering drawings and bill of materials. This person will be heavily responsible for verifying that the output is correct based on what was input into the tools.
Responsibilities

• Create and manage configuration rules, characteristics, and values (thousands across product lines)
• Build 100% BOMs (one Master BOM that contains every possible option and variation of a product) assigning rules to each BOM line item to drive automated selections for internal team to use.
• Support R&D and Product Engineering in defining and scaling configuration processes
• Maintain Teamcenter with configuration data and product structures
• Help develop and standardize configuration processes ("chunking" products into reusable rule sets)
  • Ex: will create characteristics like side channel length and characteristic value like 8ft, 10ft & 12 ft.
  • Example of scale - 32,000 configurations per simpler conveyor model, Per drawing has 8,000 configurations, 8 top level assembly drawings per model)

Must Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Experience designing/drafting configurable product
• ERP experience - BOM creation within an ERP

• SAP
• Teamcenter

Work Environment

40 hours/week
Typical start time is between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., - with some flexibility at the beginning of the workday.
The position operates in a professional engineering and product development environment that relies heavily on ERP systems such as SAP and PLM tools such as Teamcenter.

This is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
