DSV - Global transport and logistics Location: USA - Hutto, 600 Schneider Blvd, Suite 300 - 400 Division: Solutions – Time Type: Full Time – Job Posting Title: Supervisor Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities on a daily basis. This includes labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor oversees the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders, arrival notices, and instructions from customers. Assign duties to appropriate warehouse staff and assess priorities based on time sensitivity and available resources. Review pending jobs or trends, planning for reorganization of warehouse space and needed changes in levels of supplies, equipment, or staffing. Train new staff in assigned duties, or delegate training responsibility to experienced team members. Assess progress of trainees and add additional duties as necessary. Maintain knowledge of quantity and quality of jobs performed, providing guidance and advice as necessary. Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads for lower-level warehouse staff, keeping abreast of progress or problems. Keep Manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention on a daily basis. Hold regular meetings with warehouse staff to assess group’s overall status, discuss improvement ideas, and keep staff informed of new developments. Assist in the physical operations as needed and deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time. Maintain high motivation in team members to focus on providing highest levels of customer satisfaction. Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members and conduct annual performance reviews. Support adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train team members on SOPs (corporate and client). Ensure team members are properly trained and efficient in the required information systems (including WMS systems) to meet company and client objectives. Manage high-level customer service standards, maintain appropriate contact with all functions, and respond to requests when required. Assist in budget development, manage controls to meet service levels and performance goals within prescribed cost and revenue parameters. Manage maintenance programs for sanitation, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment including material handling equipment (MHE). Promote and maintain a safety culture, conduct daily safety audits, and adhere to all regulatory and company safety requirements. Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed. Perform other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise warehouse associates and team leads. Communicate all problems and questions to the manager. Assist the operations/general manager as needed. Follow all safety procedures at all times. Responsible for all equipment, supplies, documents, and materials related to the job. Responsible for following all DSV policies and procedures. Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3 years of experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment. 1 year of experience in a supervisory role. Ability to operate MHE. Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience with RF scanners and WMS functions. Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. Basic to intermediate mathematics skills for inventory and quantity verification. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timely completion of tasks. Good organizational, personnel, and communication skills. Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends. Ability to adapt to change in a fast‑pace environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Some college education. 2–4 years of experience in a supervisory role. 2–4 years of forklift experience. Current or prior MHE certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing duties, the employee uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, or crouches; talks or hears. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs while following proper lifting procedures and stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day. Requires close and distance vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The workplace is generally low to moderate in noise level, with minimal exposure to fumes or airborne particles and no exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. COMPENSATION

Expected base pay range is $56,080–$72,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
