By joining the Division of Waste Management, Field Operations Branch, Paducah Section as a Program Coordinator in McCracken County, you will have the opportunity to coordinate activities of stakeholders engaged in implementation and administration of the Division of Waste Management objectives. Collaborate with program participants and stakeholders on planning, implementing, and monitoring of provision of program services. Responsibilities Coordinates activities, interprets Hazardous Waste, Solid Waste and Underground Storage Tank laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for branch staff on a regional basis. Collects, reviews, and responds to programmatic inquiries from the general public and division staff on a regional basis. Coordinates with supervisors and staff to ensure federal grant commitments are met for RCRA and Underground Storage Tank (UST) programs. Coordinates the collection of program data from staff, edits and analyzes data, and writes status reports for supervisor, branch manager, and division director. Provide periodic updates to regional office supervisors, branch manager, and director pertaining to reporting and project schedules. Tracks implementation of inspection activities and monitors progress to ensure grant commitments are met. Coordinates and responds to programmatic inquiries from the general public, governmental officials, or other jurisdictions. Prepares, reviews, processes and/or recommends approval of contracts, grants and other program implementations. Coordinates program activities with multiple staff and supervisors in the interpretation and administration of procedures and changes. Coordinates the activities of and monitors inspectors to ensure all RCRA and UST program facilities, including but not limited to chemical manufacturing plants, federal treatment storage and disposal sites, commercial landfills, and gas stations are inspected in accordance with federal program authorizations. Reviews and analyzes program data and compiles comprehensive program status reports for executive and managerial superiors. Attends professional meetings to gather and/or distribute program information. Provides professional administrative support to the Division Office's operations. Answers the division’s phone line and routes phone calls. Tracks and coordinates Division correspondence and approval routing forms, sorts mail, and maintains Division files. Schedules meetings, coordinates, and maintains calendars for regional office. Assists staff with securing needed inventory and equipment. Completes requests in the Cabinet's purchasing request system and routes them for approval. Maintains inventory records for the division's equipment and office and janitorial supplies. Desired Candidate Skills and Experience Self-motivated and able to take initiative to anticipate needs and follow tasks through to completion. Detail-oriented. Strong organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to work as part of a team. Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Additional Position Information (travel required, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, sitting at a desk, etc.) Spends major portion of the time using a computer. Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
