Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time

Schedule: Day shift; consistent full-time hours

Advocate Healthcare Center of East Boston is seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, resident-focused therapy services. This position is full-time and open to new graduates as well as candidates with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience.

• Provide occupational therapy treatments in accordance with established plans of care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

• Assist residents in improving independence with activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive skills

• Monitor and document resident progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition

• Communicate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations

• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment

• Adhere to all infection control, safety, and HIPAA standards

Required

• Associate degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

• Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

• Active Massachusetts COTA license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date

• Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including assisting residents with mobility and transfers

Preferred

• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), rehabilitation, or post-acute care setting

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)

• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

• New graduates are encouraged to apply

• SNF or post-acute care experience preferred but not required

• Relevant clinical fieldwork experience will be considered

• Hourly pay range: $40–$44 per hour
