Role Description The Payment Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in East Orange, NJ, responsible for managing daily payment processing and related financial activities. This role includes handling payment card transactions, applying payments to customer accounts, reconciling receipts, and verifying the accuracy of financial records. The Payment Specialist will respond to customer and vendor inquiries about billing and payments, collaborate with the sales and accounting teams, and help resolve discrepancies or payment issues promptly. The role also involves maintaining organized documentation, following internal controls and company policies, and supporting continuous improvement in payment workflows to ensure timely and accurate financial operations. Qualifications Strong analytical skills to review transactions, identify discrepancies, and support accurate financial reporting. Payment card processing skills, including experience with point-of-sale systems and secure handling of customer payment information. Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, and internal team members. Finance skills, including familiarity with payment terms, cash flow concepts, and basic financial controls. Accounting skills, such as reconciliations, invoice review, and accurate data entry into financial systems. Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in retail, wholesale, or trade supply environments; proficiency with common accounting or ERP software; strong attention to detail and organizational skills; and a high level of integrity when handling financial information.
