ER Tech

Position Description Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, the ER Technician is responsible for administering patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Following the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, the technician manages the individual needs of the patient with regard to age and clinical diagnosis. The ER Technician performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department to ensure smooth patient flow. The technician possesses specialized skills and knowledge in emergency care for patients from infancy through geriatric age. Qualifications One year experience in an acute care setting preferred. High School graduate or equivalent required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. CPI certification required within 30 days of hire. CA EMT, CNA, or Medical Assistant required – or currently enrolled in an RN program with successful completion of two semesters of clinical coursework.
