Inspire and support students as a contracted special education teacher for the upcoming school year. This position offers the opportunity to enrich the lives of young learners within an elementary classroom dedicated to moderate to severe exceptionalities. The role is based onsite and runs from August through late May, providing a rewarding avenue for educators who believe in equitable access to education.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license required
- Proven expertise supporting students with moderate to severe needs
- Previous experience in an elementary special education setting is strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), differentiated instruction, and behavioral support strategies
- Strong collaboration skills and adaptability in dynamic environments
- Genuine passion for advocacy and inclusion within diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized programs tailored to meet each student’s academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to foster holistic support
- Facilitate IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation in accordance with regulatory and district standards
- Establish a safe, welcoming, and structured classroom environment encouraging student engagement and growth
- Provide regular communication with guardians and participate in ongoing professional development
