We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Bellingham, WA. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented individual who can manage financial reporting activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a smooth month-end close process. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge and a hands-on approach to general ledger management, reconciliations, and fixed asset oversight.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with established accounting practices.

• Record and review journal entries to ensure complete and accurate recognition of financial activity.

• Maintain the general ledger by monitoring account activity, researching discrepancies, and keeping balances properly supported.

• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis and resolve variances with clear documentation.

• Complete bank reconciliations to confirm cash activity and identify outstanding items requiring follow-up.

• Support month-end close procedures by coordinating deadlines, reviewing transactions, and finalizing accounting records.

• Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation tracking, and related reconciliations.

• At least 5 years of accounting experience in a senior-level or closely related role.
• Strong background in month-end close and full-cycle general ledger accounting.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience handling bank reconciliations and researching account variances effectively.
• Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting and depreciation processes.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently in a Contract assignment.
