You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Utilize knowledge of large scale operational and system conceptsDevelop and maintain system performance reporting using MXG, SAS, and SplunkMonitor daily system health for areas of improvement and exceptionsDeliver recommendations for enhancing performancePerform problem resolution to system health conditionsResearch coupling facility performance and/or LPAR weights and cappingParticipation in a 24x7x365 oncall rotation to support performance & restoration of healthHas responsibility and capability to work multi-platforms with zOS and/or zLinuxTroubleshoot complex incidents and develop skills for future technologiesDevelop POC of new products and define center of excellence for the organizationDesigns and documents technical solutions required to support complex business system including general documentation for use by Computer OperationsUsage of AI is required for daily support and assistance in efficient productivityYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience10+ years of mainframe systems experience with proficiency in performance management for large, multi-processor, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments.2+ years of experience working with SAS programmingFamiliarity with WLM (workload manager), MXG, & ThruPut Manager (batch priority software)Familiarity with SMF/RMF record structuresFamiliarity with statistical dataFamiliar with Omegamon as a system performance monitor Basic knowledge of zOS, JCL, and ability to modify jobstreams for batchKnowledge and proficiency in the use of TSO and ISPFKnowledge of z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, CICS, DB2, Strobe, & monitoring systems (e.g. Omegamon)*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
