Just steps from Moonstone Beach and minutes from downtown Cambria, Hearst Castle, local wineries, and other Central Coast attractions, Fireside Inn is an ideal home base for a relaxing seaside getaway.The RoleAs Hotel Manager, you'll be a key leader in the hotel's day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on Rooms, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, guest experience, and financial performance. You'll work closely with department leaders to maintain high service and cleanliness standards, manage labor and operating costs, respond quickly to guest feedback, and develop teams that are equipped to perform at their best. This is a highly visible role for a hands-on leader who understands how the pieces of a full-service hotel come together.You will:Lead and oversee Rooms operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and EngineeringMaintain high standards for guest service, cleanliness, and overall hotel presentationBe highly visible throughout the hotel and serve as a hands-on resource for guests and team membersMonitor guest feedback, reviews, and service scores and lead timely follow-up and improvement effortsRespond to guest concerns and service issues before they escalate, ensuring appropriate resolution and follow-throughConduct regular property walkthroughs and room inspections, including VIP inspections and surprise room inspectionsHold department leaders accountable for operational standards, service delivery, cleanliness, and follow-throughLead Rooms meetings and create clear priorities and action plans for ongoing improvementSupport department managers with staffing, inventory, coverage, and day-to-day operational challengesOversee Housekeeping and Front Office performance, including payroll, scheduling, supplies, room readiness, and service standardsReview forecasts, schedules, labor levels, and overtime and make operational adjustments based on business needsMonitor budgets, expenses, and departmental performance to support profitability and healthy flow-throughBalance financial goals with the guest experience when making operational decisionsPartner with department managers to identify opportunities to maximize revenue and improve operational efficiencyCoach, develop, and support department leaders and high-potential managersParticipate in hiring, training, performance management, and team development initiativesFoster an environment of open communication, accountability, recognition, and collaborationMonitor turnover and support strategies that strengthen retention and engagementEnsure ongoing safety, security, and loss prevention practices are followed throughout the hotelCommunicate operational needs, challenges, and opportunities to the General Manager and Executive CommitteeAssist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and departmental action plansPartner with other hotel leaders and business divisions to support the overall success of the propertyWhat Success Looks LikeThe hotel operates with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and attention to detail.
