Data Scientist I

Role Description

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist who can apply data mining techniques, mathematical and statistical analyses, and machine learning algorithms to large data sets. The data scientist will collect, process, and analyze large data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or similar field.
• 2+ years professional experience in business intelligence, data science, or operations research.
• Proficient with computer languages such as Python and SQL.
• Familiar with various machine learning techniques including clustering, ensemble methods, and artificial neural networks.
• Proficient in advanced statistical techniques such as various regression modeling (linear, logistic, polynomial, etc.) and forecasting methods.
• Knowledgeable in cloud platforms for data science, preferably Azure and Databricks.
• Familiar with big data platforms such as Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• General knowledge of PCI standards and regulations.
• Familiar with Agile methodologies and practices.
• Experience with AI Models, NLP, and/or LLM's preferred.
• Experience building classification models preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.

Requirements

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand existing processes and identify opportunities for leveraging data.
• Perform data mining and analysis from various databases to optimize product development and business strategies.
• Design and build custom AI/ML models and algorithms for enhancing products and processes.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to determine effectiveness and accuracy of data.
• Develop and perform A/B testing frameworks to assess model quality and validity.
• Interpret data analysis, model, and algorithm results for decision-making.
• Design and build predictive models to increase and optimize portfolios.
• Develop processes and tools for monitoring and analyzing model performance.
• Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in data-driven technologies.
• Work in an agile framework as needed.
• Perform duties as assigned.
