Baker

Bravo Bagel is a local, family owned artisan bagel shop serving artisan bagels and sandwiches. Due to high demand, we're looking for an additional reliable, part-time baker to become a key, trusted member of our small team. Compensation is flexible based on the level of experience a candidate brings.

The part-time baker will prepare fresh bagels on Saturdays and Sundays. Potential to add Fridays to assist the head baker for the right candidate.

We’re a bagel shop, so the shift will start early and you'll be finished early! The hours will be 4am-12pm on Saturdays/Sundays and 6am-12pm on Fridays (if applicable). This is subject to change as our needs change.

On Fridays, responsibilities include assisting the head baker with topping/baking bagels, forming dough (hand and machine rolling), and mixing dough.

On Saturdays/Sundays, responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning, topping/baking bagels, mixing dough, and forming dough into bagels (hand and machine rolling).

Baker experience preferred, but will train the right candidate.

Duties

• Open the bakery early in the morning - reliability is critical
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
• Bake a variety of bagel types
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
• Shape dough to bake off
• Track food supplies to place orders, as needed
• Collaborate with team members to meet all production goals efficiently

Skills

• Experience as a Baker, pastry chef or similar role preferred
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
• Ability to work in early morning shifts
• Certification from a culinary school is a plus
