Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Ortho experience Tele experience NIH experience Description: Unit has 23 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5. The unit is staffed with unit secretaries and patient care technicians. Equipment includes traction, fixators, and cooling equipment. Documentation is done using Meditech. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts and three weekend shifts per schedule period. The floating policy indicates that contract labor is the first to float. Floating will occur to other MedSurg level of care units. Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report and hourly rounding. The unit handles post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder replacements as well as trauma patients. Some neuro overflow is also managed. NIH familiarity is beneficial for this position. The unit follows specific guidelines and policies.
