About the Facility – Uintah and Ouray Health Center

Leave the hazards of urban life behind and apply your skills to a wide scope of health care. This ambulatory 40-hour facility is staffed by physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, and dental, optometry, and psychology providers. They provide comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal and postpartum care. Dental, behavioral health, and optometry services are also available. Other clinical specialties are provided by visiting consultants and are scheduled periodically. RN - Responsibilities

• Provide patient education.
• Carry out physician orders; administer medications, oxygen, and a variety of treatments.
• Manage therapeutic devices such as respiratory and electrocardiograph machines and other medical equipment and supplies.
• Measure and assess vital signs, height, weight, and neurological status, visual acuity and hearing.
• Screen patients for alcohol dependence, depression, etc.
• Collaborate and coordinate patient care with other health care providers.
• Assign and direct the patient care provided by ancillary nursing staff.
• Perform quality control for capillary blood glucose monitoring checks, fridge temperature checks, etc.
• Collect or assist in collection of lab specimens where applicable.
• Recognize life-threatening emergencies, initiate and maintain resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures as appropriate to the situation.
• Recognize adverse reactions to medications, treatments, and procedures and initiate interventions as appropriate to the situation.
• Answer and screen telephone calls, take off and initiate medical orders.

Registered Nurse - Requirements

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience as a registered nurse.
• Education: An ASN degree from an Accredited Nursing School Program, Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree is preferred.
• Licensure: Must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as a nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Certification: Must have a current certification in Basic Life Support.
