IceCube-Gen2 is a large research infrastructure to be constructed at the South Pole, with a significant German contribution. It has recently been successful in the German research infrastructure prioritization process. It will follow in the footsteps of IceCube, which has been the dominant project in neutrino astronomy. At its Zeuthens location, DESY has a strong focus on astroparticle physics ( ). In particular, we host one of the largest groups in IceCube and play a leading role in the Radio Neutrino Observatory in Greenland (RNO‑G). We coordinate the German efforts for IceCube-Gen2 and play a major role in the international project.
