Biomedical Field Service Technician II - Washington, D.C.

Additional Location(s) N/A About The Role As a Field Service Technician II at Boston Scientific, you will serve as a trusted technical partner to our customers by installing, maintaining, and servicing medical systems and devices. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role that requires strong technical expertise and the ability to solve problems independently. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction through a consistent commitment to delivering high‑quality service. You will manage your own territory and work closely with healthcare providers and patients to support optimal equipment performance, user training, and overall service delivery. This role supports the Cardiovascular Division, including products such as IVUS, AVVIGO, AngioJet, ICEfx, FARAPULSE, Rhythmia, and SmartFreeze systems. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams may include support for sales, complaint resolution, event coverage, and field documentation, depending on business needs. The selected candidate will reside near Washington, D.C., and provide coverage to the Northeast Region of the U.S. as needed. This position offers a high level of independence, with support and collaboration from senior team members as required. Your Responsibilities Will Include Provide on‑site service including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of medical systems and equipment Train and educate medical staff on equipment use, safety protocols, and basic troubleshooting Deliver technical support for field escalations, customer concerns, and warranty inquiries Manage routine and emergency service requests within your assigned territory Accurately document service events, complaint information, and system updates using internal tools Adhere to standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements Participate in projects, event support, or cross‑functional tasks as required by the business unit Maintain strong communication with internal teams, customers, and leadership regarding service activities and priorities Required Qualifications 1 year of experience with an Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role. Minimum of 1 year in a role requiring travel to customer or field/remote sites Strong understanding of electronic systems, including analog and digital circuitry Proficiency in troubleshooting and servicing complex technical or medical equipment Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑first mindset Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time to service customers, sometimes on short notice Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable service vehicle that meets company insurance requirements Examples of equivalent combinations may include (but are not limited to): High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years of relevant field service, technical, or biomedical equipment experience Completion of a biomedical equipment technician certification, formal technical training program, or military technical training with a minimum of 1 year of hands‑on experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field with relevant technical experience (e.g., field service, maintenance, repair, or support of complex equipment) Preferred Qualifications Prior technical field service, biomedical, or military technical MOS experience Experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery environments Business unit‑specific experience: Cardiovascular Devices – background in EP, Cath Lab, or imaging technologies Certification or coursework in Laser Technology, Electronics, or Biomedical Engineering Strong proficiency with business systems and Microsoft Office Suite Job Details Requisition ID: 628750 Minimum Salary: $56,784 Maximum Salary: $96,512 Bostont Scientific transforms lives through innovative medical technologies that improve the health of patients around the world.
