$15.00-$17.00/hr based on experience! PLUS $1 shift differential when working weekends!

Full Time- 8:30am-4:00pm. Some evenings- 12:00pm-8:30pm. Weekends and holiday rotation required.

What You’ll Do

• Plan, organize, and implement meaningful group programs such as exercise, music engagement, cognitive activities, arts and crafts, reminiscence, sensory programs, horticulture, spiritual programs, and social events.
• Provide one-to-one engagement for residents who may not participate in groups, especially those living with dementia or cognitive changes.
• Use dementia-sensitive communication and person-centered approaches.
• Escort and assist residents to and from activities, programs, and community-wide events safely.
• Assist with coordinating resident movement for auditorium programs and special events.
• Complete required documentation including calendars, attendance, one-to-one logs, trip forms, and participation notes.
• Communicate observations, engagement levels, and concerns to the Life Enrichment Manager and interdisciplinary teams.
• Support community-wide events, intergenerational programming, and seasonal celebrations.
• Attend required meetings, in-service trainings, and educational opportunities.
• Uphold Frederick Living’s mission, core values, and code of conduct.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Good organization and time management skills
• Compassion, respect, and genuine interest in working with older adults
• Ability to read aloud and facilitate group discussion
• Comfort using technology (Microsoft Office, Face Time, music/streaming platforms

 

Preferred, but not required

• Experience in senior living, long term care, memory care, or recreation
• Background in exercise programming (Zumba, line dancing, Tai Chi, cardio drumming)
• Experience with music, arts, creative expression, or recreational modalities
• Understanding of dementia-friendly programming
• Coursework in recreation, human services, gerontology, or related fields
