The Dabney is seeking a warm, organized, and hospitality-driven Host to join our team.

Chef Jeremiah Langhorne ’s Michelin-starred restaurant showcases Mid-Atlantic cuisine centered around a wood-burning hearth and highlights ingredients sourced from regional farms, fishermen, and artisans.

Since opening in 2015, The Dabney has been honored with numerous accolades including:

Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic (2018) from the James Beard Foundation
One Michelin Star (2017–Present) from the Michelin Guide
No. 1 Restaurant (2023) by Washingtonian Magazine
Featured in Food & Wine and Bon Appétit

The Host team plays a critical role in shaping the guest experience from the moment guests arrive. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and organized dining room.

Responsibilities

Warmly welcome and seat guests while maintaining the flow of service
Manage reservations and waitlists using our reservation system
Communicate clearly with servers and management to ensure smooth service
Assist with guest inquiries and special requests
Help maintain an organized and professional front-of-house environment

Ideal Candidates Will Have

Previous host or hospitality experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
A calm and positive demeanor in a busy dining room
Strong attention to detail and professionalism
A genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and guest experience
