The Dabney
The Dabney is seeking a warm, organized, and hospitality-driven Host to join our team.
Chef Jeremiah Langhorne ’s Michelin-starred restaurant showcases Mid-Atlantic cuisine centered around a wood-burning hearth and highlights ingredients sourced from regional farms, fishermen, and artisans.
Since opening in 2015, The Dabney has been honored with numerous accolades including:
- Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic (2018) from the James Beard Foundation
- One Michelin Star (2017–Present) from the Michelin Guide
- No. 1 Restaurant (2023) by Washingtonian Magazine
- Featured in Food & Wine and Bon Appétit
The Host team plays a critical role in shaping the guest experience from the moment guests arrive. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and organized dining room.
Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and seat guests while maintaining the flow of service
- Manage reservations and waitlists using our reservation system
- Communicate clearly with servers and management to ensure smooth service
- Assist with guest inquiries and special requests
- Help maintain an organized and professional front-of-house environment
Ideal Candidates Will Have
- Previous host or hospitality experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A calm and positive demeanor in a busy dining room
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism
- A genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and guest experience
