Job Description
Surgical Services - Sterile Processing Tech

Schedule

Day shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, including occasional scheduled holidays.

Assignment Details

Permanent placement options available, details to be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current certification by either CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM).
• Experience in decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Familiarity with sterilization processes including both sterrad and steam.
• Experience with high-level disinfection (HLD) and scopes.
• Experience in sterile storage protocols.
• Ability to liaise with operating room staff effectively.
• Proficiency with Censitrac tracking system.
• Experience in managing case carts, including moving, separating soiled items, and preparing for future cases.
• Ability to take calls for the operating room across multiple surgical floors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate sterile storage and inventory control.
• Coordinate with operating room staff to meet surgical needs.
• Participate in tracking processes using sterilization equipment and tracking software.
• Prepare case carts for daily surgical procedures.
• Respond to calls from the operating rooms as required.
