Billing Specialist

This position is in-person. Located at the company's corporate headquarters in Greensboro NC.

Job Description:

Will work in the Contracting/Rigging division to prep and execute customer invoices. Works closely with the Billing Manager, Project Managers, Vice President, and President of the Contracting/Rigging Department.

Duties:

• Prepare monthly progress payment applications and invoices using project Schedules of Values (SOV) and AIA contract billing formats.
• Review contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and SOVs to ensure billing accurately reflects current project status.
• Coordinate with project managers to verify percentage of work completed prior to submitting monthly billings.
• Track warehouse storage, previous billings, and retainage invoices.
• Prepare and maintain AIA billing documentation, including applicable payment applications and supporting schedules.
• Process approved change orders and ensure contract modifications are accurately reflected in project billing.
• Prepare, request, collect, review, and track lien waivers, lien releases, sworn statements, and other compliance documentation from subcontractors and vendors.
• Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and accounting personnel regarding billing status, documentation, and payment issues.
• Assist with resolving outstanding payment issues.
• Ensure all billings are submitted accurately and within established monthly deadlines.
• Cross Training – Job Cost Accounts Payable, Payroll Prep, Paying of Expense Reports

Preferred, but not required:

• Associate Degree or equal work experience
• Previous experience within the construction, contracting, industrial, logistics, or specialty subcontracting industries, performing billing, project accounting, accounts receivable, contract administration, or construction administration
